A 38-year old man and his 5-year old son were both hit by gunfire during a shooting in Northeast Philadelphia last night.

A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened on the 12000 block of Verda Drive at around 9 p.m. on Saturday night.

 

 

 

The 38-year old victim and his 5-year old son were reportedly shot as they were entering their home. Police said they believe this was a targeted attack. Both victims were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where both were last reported to be in stable condition. The child was transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital For Children for further treatment.

 

Neighboring houses were also struck by gunfire during the shooting. One home had their glass front door shattered by a bullet, and another neighboring home had a bullet hole in a window. A possible motive for the shooting was not reported. Police did not go into detail about why they believe the victim was targeted. No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
