A student at Overbrook High School is currently hospitalized, after more than 30-shots were fired in a shooting near the school this morning.

A report from CBS-3 Philly said the incident happened at 61st & Jefferson Streets at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
The 15-year old student was shot just three blocks away from the school. The 9th grader at Overbrook High School was shot once in the arm as gunmen sprayed 32-shots at the scene. The victim was taken to Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia. He was last reported to be in stable condition.
The student and a friend were reportedly walking down the street when a car rounded the corner and opened fire on them. Police say it was pure luck that the teen was only hit once during the barrage of gunfire.
“When you’re looking at 32-shell casings out here in West Philadelphia, it’s a miracle the student survived”, said Monique Braxton, the School District Of Phila. Deputy Chief Communications/Spokesperson.
