A carjacking suspect was reportedly shot and critically injured during an attempted carjacking over the weekend.
A report from 6 ABC Action News said the incident happened at North Mascher & West Berks Street late on Saturday night.
According to police, the suspect approached the victim while he was sitting in his car. The victim reportedly fired a gun through the front windshield, hitting the suspect in the chest. The suspect ran after being shot. He made it to East Palmer Street & Frankford Avenue before he collapsed. The suspect was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.
No charges have been filed against the victim at this time.
