MAN ACCUSED OF THROWING MOLOTOV COCKTAILS INTO HOMES IN PHILADELPHIA

49-year old, Jason Mattis, was reportedly arrested on 12/15/2022 and charged with three counts of possession of an unregistered destructive device. A 6 ABC Action News report said Mattis is being accused of throwing Molotov cocktails into three homes in Northeast Philadelphia over this past summer.

The first two incidents reportedly happened in the middle of the night on June 30th of this year (2022). The third incident happened on the evening of July 1st. Mattis was seen by a neighbor as he tossed the cocktail at a home. The neighbor attempted to give chase, but Mattis had already fled. Surveillance video of the incident helped to connect Mattis to the crimes.

Mattis is facing a maximum of 30-years in prison if convicted on the charges. There was no word given on his next court date.
