One person was killed and another person was injured during a house fire in North Philadelphia early this morning. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened on the 2400 block of West Seybert Street at around 4 a.m. on Monday morning.

Authorities said it took about 40 minutes to extinguish the fire. A victim was found dead inside of the home. A second person found inside of the home was taken to a nearby hospital where they were last reported to be in stable condition.
“This is horrible. The home owner did have fire detectors; we heard them going off. I’m just stunned. I cannot believe it,” said a neighbor who saw the flames from her home before coming outside.
