An Uber driver reportedly turned the tables on an attempted robbery suspect in the Port Richmond section of the city yesterday. According to 6 ABC Action News, the incident happened on the 3900 block of Coral Street at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
The driver was reportedly stopped at the location when he was robbed by an armed suspect. The Uber driver fired on the suspect as he fled. Police found the suspect a few blocks away from the scene of the crime. He was rushed to the hospital by police where he was last reported to be in critical condition.
The Uber driver was licensed to carry a weapon.
