22-year old Aaron Scott pleaded guilty to third-degree murder charges and aggravated assault charges in a Philadelphia courtroom this afternoon (Friday 10/28/2022). A report from KYW-News Radio said Scott had been accused of killing 66-year old, Jeffery Carter and severely injuring Ivan Cuevas, a student at the school, on October 18th, 2021 after school dismissed for the day at Lincoln High School.
Prosecutors showed a montage of slides of the shooting from surveillance video. Scott was reportedly seen throwing a punch before pulling out his gun and firing 12-shots. A bullet hit Cuevas in the back.
66-year old, Jeffrey Carter, was driving by after dropping off a dress for his granddaughter. He was shot in the head. Carter’s car crashed into the school’s fence after he was shot.
The montage ended with images of Scott being arrested by police at the scene, after being ordered to drop his weapon and get on the ground. Scott’s sentencing date has been set for January.
