30-year old, Nestor Hernandez, has been identified as the suspect who shot and killed two hospital employees this weekend. A report from ABC-13 said the incident happened at Methodist Hospital on the 1400 block of N. Beckley Avenue at around 11:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.
According to police, first responding officers arrived at the scene to discover two hospital employees suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were found in the labor and delivery area of the hospital. Both employees died as a result of their wounds.
Police officers encountered Hernandez shortly thereafter. Hernandez was shot by police and detained. He was reportedly taken to a different hospital to be treated for his undisclosed injuries.
Hernandez was reportedly out on parole and wearing an active ankle monitor at the time of the incident. Hernandez served time, and is currently on parole for an “aggravated robbery”.
