42-year old, Lashawnda Jones, from Wilmington, Delaware, was arrested and charged for allegedly attempting to rob two banks on the same day. A report from Shore News Network said Jones attempted to rob the TD Bank on East Songsmith Drive in Bear Delaware on Saturday morning, before attempting to rob a second bank in West Chester, P.A. later on the same day.

Employees and witnesses at both banks described the same person as the robber. Police knew who they were searching for before Jones even attempted the second bank robbery later on in the day.

“A female suspect had entered the business and presented a demand note to the bank teller. The victim notified her manager, at which point the suspect fled the business without obtaining any cash. The suspect fled the scene in a maroon Nissan Altima,” said a Delaware State Police representative.

Jones was taken into custody shortly after the second bank robbery, when a state trooper recognized the car and the face wanted in the first robbery. Jones was taken into custody without incident, and was reportedly in possession of a “large kitchen knife” when arrested. Jones was unsuccessful at getting the teller to hand over the money during both attempted bank robberies.
