An Uber driver was reportedly beaten and robbed in the West Philly section of the city overnight. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened at 50th Street & Westminister Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

The 65-year old victim told police he was pulled from his Toyota Rav-4 truck, then punched and kicked in the head. The victim reportedly suffered a broken nose and also lost several teeth as a result of the attack. Police said the victim was still dazed and confused when they spoke to him, but he managed to give police his truck’s license plate number.
The stolen Rav-4 was spotted on 46th & Lancaster, heading the wrong way down a one-way street shortly after the assault/robbery. Police attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver reportedly jumped out and fled on foot. Two teenagers were arrested after a brief foot pursuit. A 15-year old and a 16-yeard old. One officer was reported injured, after suffering a cut to his hand while climbing a chain-linked fence while in pursuit of the suspects.
