A fight between two groups of young men and women reportedly led to shots being fired, and one person left dead in Center City overnight. A Fox-29 Philly report said the incident happened on the 400 block of South Street at around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Police on patrol in the area responding to the sound of gunshots being fired, found a man reported to be in his 20’s lying on the ground. The victim had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A man fitting the description of the shooter was spotted by patrol officers on 5th & Lombard Streets, shortly after the shooting. Police found a gun that they say appears to be the one used in the shooting, in his bag. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Police said the shooting is still under investigation.
