A high school football coach was shot while reportedly attempting to break up a fight taking place on the school’s campus on Tuesday. A TMZ report said the incident happened in front of Vallejo High School, in Northern California, at around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

The football team’s defensive coordinator, Joe Pastrana, broke up a fight in front of the school between a group of students and some individuals who didn’t go to the school. After the two groups were separated, the group that didn’t go to the store got into a car. As they were leaving the scene, someone in the car fired at the crowd still standing in front of the school.
Pastrana was taken to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition. No arrests have been made in the shooting at this time.
