A 29-year old man was reportedly shot in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant last night during a gunfight between two groups. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened at the McDonald’s near Temple University’s Campus on Broad & Diamond Streets at around 9 p.m. on Thursday night.
First responding officers at the scene reported finding the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh, in the parking lot. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.
Police said the drama began when a gold colored vehicle pulled into the parking lot. Two men, who are considered to be the suspects in the shooting, were already parked in the parking lot sitting in an SUV. One of the men in the gold vehicle exited the car to talk to someone standing in the parking lot. The suspects in the SUV reportedly opened fire on him at that time. The passenger in the gold vehicle reportedly returned fire.
When the smoke cleared, over 30-shots had been fired in the parking lot. Luckily, no one else was reported injured. No arrests have been made at this time.
