A 37-year old man was reportedly shot and killed in South Philly last night, during what police described as an “execution”. A 6ABC ACTION NEWS report said the incident happened at 7th & Ritner Streets at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
According to police, two men got out of a vehicle and fired a total of 30-shots at the victim. Four shots found their target. The victim managed to run around the corner where he was picked up by a car and rushed to the hospital. The victim died at the hospital shortly after arriving.
Five bullets made their way into the busy Chinese takeout restaurant on the corner of the block. No customers in the store or bystanders were reported injured. Police did not give any word on a possible motive for the shooting.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
