MAN KILLED IN SHOOTOUT WITH MILWAUKEE POLICE

A 47-year old man was reportedly killed by police in Milwaukee last night after a chase through the busy downtown bar district, before ultimately exiting his vehicle and allegedly opening fire on pursuing police. A report from the Associated Press said the unfortunate chain of events began when police attempted to pull the suspect over in his vehicle at around 11 p.m. on Saturday night.

The man took off when officers attempted the traffic stop. The chase through downtown Milwaukee ended when the suspect got out of his vehicle and fired at police, who returned fire, killing the unidentified suspect. An innocent bystander was shot during the shootout. It’s not immediately clear why the bystander was near the scene of the shootout.

Police did not release information on the extent of the bystander’s injuries. A firearm was reportedly recovered at the scene.
