Philadelphia Police say a recent Tik Tok challenge is leading to a rise in car thefts all across the Philadelphia area. According to a 6 ABC Action News report, police say the car thieves are targeting Hyundai’s and Kia cars. The report also said at least 5 Kia’s and Hyundai’s were stolen from one section of North Philly just this weekend.

Police say the Tik Tok challenge shows viewers how to steal the cars with the use of a USB cable. There were 35 reports of stolen Kia’s and Hyundai’s in Philadelphia over this past week. If you’re driving a Kia or Hyundai, police suggests you park your car in well lit areas and using steering wheel locks if possible.
