A man wanted for a double shooting barricaded himself inside of a North Philly home last night after being pursued by police. According to a 6 ABC Action News report, the drama began when opened fire on the 2200 block of Lehigh Avenue at around 9:30 p.m.
The suspect reportedly shot two people on Lehigh Avenue, before fleeing the scene, and running into a house on the 2800 block of 22nd Street. A 22-year old woman was shot 3-times and a 66-year old man was shot once. Both were rushed to Temple University Hospital where both victims were last reported to be in critical condition.
Police on patrol nearby, pursued the suspect as he ran into the house. Police said they are not sure if the suspect had any connection to the house at all. The suspect finally exited the house and surrendered to police at around 1:00 a.m. Police said they recovered a weapon inside the home, they believe was used in the double shooting.
