31-year old, former youth pastor, Sean Higgins, is accused of adopting the persona of a teenage girl, in order to get underage boys to send him explicit pictures and videos of themselves. According to a report from 6 ABC Action News, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office indicted Higgins on 75 counts on Friday, including endangering the welfare of a child, cyber harassment, and aggravated sexual assault.
According to investigators, Higgins used Snapchat and Instagram to find his victims. He introduced himself as Julie Miller. After establishing a rapport online with the victim, Higgins allegedly sent the victims pictures of a teenage girl, claiming they were pictures of him. Higgins would then ask the victims to send him illicit pictures of themselves.
Once Higgins received the photos from the victim, he would threaten to share them unless the victim followed his every demand. According to police, the charges stem from 2020. There are reported to be 13 victims from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and other states. The victims range in ag from 12-17 years old.
Higgins reportedly committed the crimes while he was serving as Youth Pastor and music leader at the Harbor Baptist Academy.
