A 35-year old man was reportedly shot in the face in the Tacony section of the city last night. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened at Hellerman Street & Torresdale Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. on Thursday night.
A gunman inside of a gold car, reportedly sped through the block, spraying bullets the entire time. According to the report, the gunman “began shooting a full block before reaching the victim.” At least 20 shots were fired and multiple vehicles were struck by gunfire during the shooting.
The victim was hit in the face as the shooter sped by. The victim collapsed after being shot in the face. He managed to get back up and make his way to a corner store to ask for help. The victim, still bleeding from the face, left the store shortly afterward. He collapsed on Torresdale Avenue, where police later found him.
The police rushed the victim to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition. Police did not give any word on a possible motive for the shooting.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
