5 SHOT NEAR REC CENTER IN WEST PHILLY; 2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

A shooting outside of a rec center in Philadelphia reportedly injured five people in the West Philly section of the city tonight. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened outside of the Shepard Recreation Center, on the 57th Street & Haverford Avenue at around 6:53 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

A 16 and 21 year old male were shot and rushed to the hospital. Both were last reported to be in critical condition at an area hospital. Five people were hit during the shooting. The victims ranged in ages from 16-22 years old.

Two gunmen were arrested at the scene. Multiple rifles and handguns were reportedly recovered from the suspects’ SUV. Police did not give any word on a possible motive for the shooting. The two suspects who were arrested are believed to be the only suspects in the shooting.
