GUNMAN BREAKS INTO WEST PHILLY HOME & SHOOTS SLEEPING VICTIM MULTIPLE TIMES

A 20-year old man was shot multiple times as he slept in his West Philadelphia home overnight. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened inside of a house on 43rd Street & Lancaster Avenue at around 2 a.m. early on Wednesday morning.

Police investigators said the shooting suspect broke into the home through the front door, and walked up the stairs. The shooter reportedly went straight to the bedroom the 20-year old victim was asleep in. Investigators said the suspect shot the sleeping victim at least 5 or 6 times. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.

The victim was not the only person in the home when the shooting took place. The victim’s family, which reportedly includes 5 children under the age of 14-years old, were also in the home at the time of the shooting. They were uninjured.

Police did not report on a possible motive for the shooting. No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
