2 INJURED AFTER SHOTS FIRED INTO GROUP AT SEPTA STATION

Two people are reportedly in police custody after a group of people were opened fire upon at a Septa Station in Frankford overnight. A 6 ABC Action News report said the incident happened at the Arrott Transportation Center in Frankford at around 12:20 a.m early Wednesday morning.

Police on patrol at the transportation center reported seeing shots fired at people on the stairwell. The shooters were inside of a white van, according to police. The driver of the van reportedly took off after the shooting. Police followed the van as it headed toward the Boulevard (Roosevelt Blvd.). The van pulled over near the 5300 block of Sylvester Street. The suspects were taken into custody. The driver of the van was identified as female, and the passenger was identified as male. Police say both are alleged to have been the shooters.

A 19-year old man was shot in the leg during the incident at the transportation center. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition. A 29-year old was man was also reportedly shot. He was hit once in the chest. The victim was taken to the same hospital, where he was last reported to be in critical condition.

There was no word on a possible motive for the shooting at this time. Police said the incident is still under investigation.
