A man and woman were killed in a house fire that happened in the West Oak Lane section of the city last night. A 6 ABC Action News report said the fire broke out on the 1000 block of Dorset Street & Mansfield Avenue, at around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday night.
First responding firefighters at the scene reported seeing heavy flames coming from a back second floor bedroom in the two-story twin home. Firefighters spotted a man and woman inside. They grabbed the victims and rushed them out of the burning house. Both victims suffered from heavy burns. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Both victims reportedly died as a result of their injuries at the hospital, a while after arriving. Firefighters managed to get the fire under control. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
