43-year old, Sidney Wolf of Clarksburg, Maryland was killed by a passing driver after he was kicked out of a Lyft near Dewey Beach, Delaware early Sunday morning. A report from 6 ABC Action News said the Lyft Wolf and five of his friends were passengers in the Lyft that was traveling southbound on Coastal Highway taking the passengers to Bethany Beach, when a disagreement between driver and passengers began.
The Lyft driver reportedly stopped the vehicle in the middle of the Southbound left lane and immediately informed the passengers that the ride was over. He demanded that the passengers exit his vehicle.
As that was taking place, a 2016 Toyota Corolla that was traveling in the same lane as the Lyft moved over to the next lane to make a pass. The police report said the driver of the Toyota did not see Wolf, who had just exited the Lyft, standing beside the car. Wolf was struck by the vehicle. He died at the scene.
Police said the driver of the Toyota immediately pulled over to check on the victim. The Lyft driver reportedly fled the scene after the accident. He was last seen heading southbound on Coastal Highway.
Police were still searching for the Lyft driver and the vehicle he used.
