The 14-year old who turned himself in to police on Monday was officially charged as an adult with 3rd degree murder, this morning. The 14-year old and his 10-year old brother turned themselves in for the part they played in the beating death of 73-year old, James Lambert. A CBS-3 Philly report said the 14-year old has been charged as an adult with 3rd degree murder and criminal conspiracy in the June 24th attack on the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue.

*because he is a juvenile we will only be referring to the 14-year old suspect as “RJ” *
The 14-year old was identified as R.J., who police say lives just blocks away from where the attack to place. RJ’s 10-year old, younger brother was reportedly released by police overnight without being charged. R.J and his 10-year old brother were allegedly a part of a group of seven teens that beat the 73-year old with multiple objects on June 24th.
Police say they have been in touch with some, but not all of the 5 remaining teenage suspects. Police also said they put a $20,000 reward out for anyone who may have been present during, or have information on the June 24th assault.
