Four packages were discovered inside of the cushion of the wheelchair. CBP officers said they are always on the lookout for anything suspicious at the airport.
“His answers didn’t match up. His physical purported handicap did not match up. That was a tell-tale sign that there was something suspicious.” Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent, Mike Prado said.
The four packages containing cocaine were discovered within the seat cushions. The 23 pounds of cocaine had a reported street value of $378,000 according to CBP Agents. The suspect is reportedly a legal, permanent U.S. resident, and the 22-year old has been charged with cocaine trafficking, according to the AP report.
