A drive-by shooting aimed at a group having a cookout in the Hunting Park section of the city, left one man dead and another injured last night. A report from 6-ABC Action News said, the incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. as a group of people were sitting outside on 8th Street & Allegheny Avenue, watching Game-6 of the NBA Finals series on Thursday night.

A 38-year old man was reportedly struck in the body multiple times. The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
A 22-year old man was reportedly struck in both shoulders. He was also taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was last reported to be in stable condition.
Police say a Honda with dark tinted windows was seen fleeing the scene.
“So this was a drive-by shooting from Glenwood onto Allegheny and both the front and rear windows of a dark-colored, gray Honda Accord went down and one, but it looks more likely like two, opened fire on the crowd”, Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said.
