A 40-year old man who was in North Philadelphia visiting and caring for his sick mother, was shot and killed last night. According to a 6 ABC Action News report, the incident happened on the 3300 block of North Smedley Street near York Street at around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
The 40-year old victim was reportedly shot in the head at close range, as he was getting into his vehicle. The victim had reportedly just stopped by to check on his sick mother, which witnesses said, he normally does.
“This is a tragic story because this 40-year old does not live here. He comes here and takes care of his mother who is sick. He comes here on a regular basis to take care of his mother, and he was taking care of his mother this evening when he left the house that’s when he was shot and killed. It’s a tragic story”, said Philadelphia Police Inspector, Scott Small.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
