More than two dozen members of a white nationalist group calling themselves The Patriot Front, were arrested and charged with planning a riot at an LBGTQ pride event yesterday in the city of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. A report from Reuters News said, a total of 31 members of the Patriot Front are now facing multiple criminal charges, including conspiracy to riot. City of Coeur, Police Chief, Lee White told reporters that additional criminal charges against the group are expected.
A local resident spotted a group of about 20 Patriot Front members carrying shields and wearing white masks to cover their faces, piling into a U-Haul truck. The concerned resident called police dispatch and told them “it looked like a little army.” Police reportedly pulled the U-Haul truck over less than 10 minutes after receiving the call.
The 20 or so members piled into the back and front of the U-Haul truck were arrested on the scene. The members of the hate group were dressed alike in brown Khaki pants, blue shirts, white masks covering their faces, and baseball caps.
Police reported finding at least one smoke grenade, documents..including one marked “operations plan”, multiple shields, and shin guards, after searching the suspects, according to the arrest report.
Police Chief, Lee White, said so far they have discovered that members of the Patriot Group arrested on Saturday came from at least 11 of the states, in these United States Of America.
The Patriot Group is alleged to have formed in the aftermath of the 2017 “Unite The Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
