Bullets from multiple shooters reportedly sent people running for cover on South Street last night. When the smoke cleared, three people were dead, and another 11 people were left injured. A report from 6 ABC Action News said, the incident happened on the 200 block of South Street shortly before midnight on Saturday night.
Several officers in the area reportedly heard shots fired in the area and proceeded to respond. When they arrived, police reportedly spotted several active shooters firing into a crowd. One of the police reportedly fired at one of the shooters. Police said they were not sure if the officer hit the suspect.
Two guns were reportedly recovered at the scene. According to police, one of the guns recovered was equipped with an extended clip. Numerous shell casings were found from the 200 all the way through the 300 blocks of South Street.
The three people killed have only been identified as “2 men and 1 woman”. All three had reportedly been shot multiple times in the body. A total of fourteen (14) people were hit by gunfire during the shooting.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
