A 55-year old man was reportedly shot and killed in North Philly early this morning, as he stood on a sidewalk. A 6 ABC Action News report said, the incident happened at around 1 a.m., Wednesday morning on North 2nd Street, right between Tioga & West Ontario Streets.
Police received multiple calls from neighbors about hearing shots fired in the area. First responding officers found the victim lying on the sidewalk. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The suspect reportedly approached the victim as he was standing on the sidewalk. The suspect then, reportedly fired several shots at close range, according to police. He reportedly fled the scene on foot after the shooting.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
