23-year old, Mamadou Kallie, of Coatesville P.A., was arrested and charged in the murders of 20-year old, Tiara Rodriguez-Diaz, and 21 year old, Kimberly Ortiz-Zayas, both also from Coatesville. A report from NBC-10 Philadelphia said, Kallie was also charged in the killing of Ortiz-Zayas’ unborn child. The events that led up to the murders of the women and unborn child, reportedly began on Saturday shortly before 9:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Mount Pleasant Street.
Police were called to the residence for a report of a domestic dispute between Kallie and Rodriguez-Diaz. While sitting in the backseat of a Toyota Corolla, and holding her and Kallie’s 22-month old child, she told police that everything was fine and that she did not want to file a compliant against Kallie.
Kallie reportedly became irritated after seeing Rodriguez-Diaz talking to the police, according to investigators. Police said Kallie walked away from the Toyota and entered a black Ford Edge parked nearby. After police finished their investigation and concluded that everything was okay, Rodriguez-Diaz drove away, with the couple’s 22-month old child in the backseat.
Thirty minutes later, police were called to the 300 block of East Glencrest Road in Valley Township. A witness at the scene reported hearing nine gunshots. A second victim said they saw a black SUV fleeing the scene after the shooting. Police found the bodies of Rodriguez-Diaz and Ortiz-Zayas a short distance from where they talked to the witnesses.
Rodriguez-Diaz was found in the driver’s seat of the Toyota Corolla. She was reportedly suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to Paoli Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
A trail of blood from the Corolla, led police to the body of Ortiz-Zayas. The trail began at the front passenger door at the Corolla, and ended a short distance away, where Ortiz-Zayas was found. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Chester Police responded to a report of a carjacking on Rt. 162 & Telegraph Road in East Bradford Township, at around 10:45 p.m., the same night. An unnamed victim told him Kallie reportedly pulled up in the black Ford Edge and got into the victim’s Infinity. Kallie reportedly pointed his gun at the victim and ordered him to drive to Philly. Kallie also asked the victim, who told police he knew Kallie before this incident, for a change of clothes.
At some point, Kallie reportedly forced the victim out of the moving car and began driving himself. Responding officers caught up to the Infinity in Caln Township, after a brief chase. Kallie reportedly exited the car and held a gun to his own head.
Police negotiators managed to talk Kallie into surrendering. He was taken into custody without incident at around 11:41 p.m. The 22-month old infant was found uninjured. Kallie has been charged with two counts of 1st degree murder, murder of an unborn child, carjacking, fleeing and eluding, endangering the welfare of a child, and other related offenses.
Kallie is reportedly being held without bail at Chester County Prison.
