Two women were arrested in Casa Grande, Phoenix this week, after a traffic stop turned into a narcotics bust. A report from AZ Family said, the incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande.
Police reportedly pulled over a black SUV that was allegedly speeding. At some point during the traffic stop, police discovered half a million (500,000) Fentanyl pills. The pills were reportedly hidden in bottles labeled “halogen shipments”. A k-9 found the pills. Officers who searched the vehicle found a firearm, and what they called “a large amount of U.S. currency.”
The occupants of the SUV were identified as 31-year old, driver, Martha Lopez. The other occupant was identified as 30-year old, passenger, Tania Luna Solis. Two children were also in the vehicle at the time.
Lopez and Solis were taken into custody and booked into the Pinal County Detention Center. The two children were placed into the custody of the Department of Child’s Safety.
Lopez and Solis are facing multiple charges, including importation of narcotics for sale, child endangerment, and misconduct involving weapons.
