Retired, former Boston Celtics big man, Glenn “Big Baby” Davis, reportedly attended game-4 of the Celtics-Heat Eastern Conference Finals series on Monday night. According to a report from the Associated Press, being in Boston violated the terms of his bail. Davis was reportedly threatened by a judge in a Manhattan, NY courtroom the day after.
“You have fouled out, in basketball terms. If there is another foul, your going straight from here to MDC (Manhattan Detention Complex) You’re going to get caught because you’re all over social media, you’ve got to comply with these rules” U.S. District Judge, Valerie Caproni said to Davis at Tuesday’s hearing.
Davis’ charge comes from an alleged fraud scheme which saw multiple former and retired NBA players get caught in its web. Davis was one of them. The scheme reportedly involved the NBA’s Health & Welfare Benefit Plan. The terms of Davis’ bail terms only allowed for him to travel to New York and California prior to the trial. This is Davis’ second bail violation for the same case. The first time he violated his terms was when he attended a Celtics game a few months ago, and became the focus of a “viral moment” at the game. Davis was caught the same way, when the television cameras focused on him enjoying himself front row at Game-4.
