The victim was a 37-year old male, who has been identified as Anton Ellis, from Germantown. Police said Ellis was shot in the back multiple times. He was transported to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead by doctors soon after arriving.

As police began investigating, they learned that the motive may have been an argument between the shooter and victim.
