A 25-year old man was reportedly shot and killed while walking his dog in the Port Richmond section of the city last night. A report from 6 ABC Action News said, the incident happened near the intersection of Frankford Avenue & East Atlantic Street at around 11:30 p.m. late Tuesday night.
Police say they found the shooting victim lying on the sidewalk when they arrived. They said the victim was suffering from “many, many gunshot wounds to his body”.
Neighbors said the victim frequents the area, but doesn’t live there. Authorities said the man was walking his dog when he was approached by two men. The suspects reportedly fired 36-shots at the victim.
“When police found him, the victim was still holding onto a leash that had a dog attached”, said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector, Scott Small.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Police said they were checking nearby surveillance cameras for clues, but no suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
