The market was reportedly packed with late-night shoppers at the time of the robbery. When officers arrived, most businesses were closed. Police found two men lying on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. One had been shot in the leg. The other had been shot in the arm.

The victims told police they were among 15 or more people who were dining at a takeout area, when three men walked inside the store and announced a robbery. One robber pointed his gin at the crowd of customers, while the other two began going through people’s pockets, wallets, and pocketbooks and taking possession of the customer’s valuables. At some point during the robbery, the suspect holding the gun fired once. Police say that bullet hit both victims.

The victims were taken to Jefferson University Hospital where they were both last reported to be in stable condition. Police said the three suspects fled the scene on foot after the shooting.

Police are reportedly checking surveillance cameras for clues, but no suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
