A man riding a bike, who has only been identified as “a 30-year old man”, is dead after he reportedly attempted to rob a man who was standing in front of his South Philly home smoking a cigarette last night. A CBS-3 Philly report said the incident happened on South 6th Street near Moyamensing Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Police said they found the robber with a gunshot wound to the head when the arrived. The 24-year old licensed gun owner remained at the scene until police arrived. The robber on the bike managed to fire at least two shots at the 24-year old before he was shot and killed, according to police.
No charges have been brought against the gun owner at this time.
