2 POLICE OFFICERS & CIVILIAN PASSENGERS INJURED IN ACCIDENT DURING TRAFFIC STOP IN NORTH PHILLY

Two Philadelphia Police officers and civilians sitting in a car that was pulled over by police, were injured during a traffic stop in North Philly last night. FOX-29 PHILLY said the two 22nd district police officers were conducting a routine traffic stop in their marked patrol car at round 6 p.m. on the 2500 block of West Sedgley Avenue on Saturday evening, when the accident happened.

A civilian vehicle that was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, heading southbound on Sedgley Avenue, smacked into the patrol vehicle, causing the vehicle to crash into the car it had pulled over.

Both officers and the injured civilians were all taken to Temple University Hospital to be treated for their injuries. All parties were treated for non life-threatening injuries. All three vehicles involved in the crash sustained heavy damage, according to the report.

No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made at this time.
