MAN KILLED IN HEAD-ON CRASH IN NORTHEAST PHILLY

A man was left dead after a head-on accident in Northeast Philly’s, Castor neighborhood last night. A report from FOX-29 PHILADELPHIA said the accident happened around 10:35 p.m. on Friday night at the intersection of Algon Avenue & Knorr Street.

52-year old, Luis Velez was reportedly behind the wheel of a 2008 Honda Accord heading northbound on Algon Avenue. Velez was behind a 2022 Ford Econline. The police report said Velez tried to go around the Ford and ran directly into a 2014 Kia Sorrento traveling southbound on Algon Avenue. Police dais Velez crossed the yellow center dividing lines and into the southbound lanes while attempting to pass the Ford.

Velez was rushed to the hospital by medics. He was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. Police were still investigating the deadly accident this morning.
