UBER DRIVER SHOT DURING ARGUMENT WITH PASSENGER IN WEST PHILLY

An Uber driver is in critical condition this morning, after an argument ended in the driver being shot by a passenger in his car last night. CBS-3 PHILLY reported, that the incident happened at around 10 p.m. on Delancey Street & Cobbs Creek Parkway on Thursday night.

The incident began inside of the car as the Uber driver was taking his passenger to his destination. An argument ensued, and the passenger shot the driver from behind his seat. The Uber driver crashed into a parked car after being shot. Police said the bullet went into the driver’s chest. The suspect fled after the shooting.

“We got a guy out here working tonight, trying to make a living for his family. Unfortunately he’s now sitting in the hospital as a result of an action that was taken by an individual that wasn’t necessary,” said Philadelphia Police Captain, John Walker.

The unidentified Uber driver was taken to Lankenau Hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition.

No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
