MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER SHOOTING IN GERMANTOWN

A shooting in the Germantown section of the city late last night, left one man in critical condition. A FOX-29 PHILADELPHIA report said the incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. on the 5300 block of Newhall Street on Monday night.

Police said the male victim was found at the location, lying on the sidewalk and suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and leg. The man was reportedly bleeding heavily and in and out of consciousness. He was rushed to Albert Einstein Hospital and was last reported to be in critical condition.

Police said shell casings and dollar bills were found very close to where the victim was shot, leading police to believe the shooter was in close proximity of the victim when he was shot. Police said they are also looking into the possibility of a robbery being the motive for the shooting.

No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
