City officials in Washington D.C. warned residents in the a neighborhood in Northwest, Washington to stay inside due to an “active threat” in the area, this afternoon. A report from the ASSOCIATED PRESS said, that at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, officers responded to the scene on Connecticut Avenue near Van Ness Street, in the Van Ness neighborhood, which is just a short distance from Howard University Law School.
The victims reportedly included two men, who were both last reported to be in stable condition, and a juvenile female who reportedly suffered from a “minor” gunshot wound.
There was no word on a motive for the shooting, but the AP report said, police in tactical gear were seen escorting people out of a nearby apartment building. Officers reportedly pointed their rifles upwards at other buildings as they escorted the folks from the apartment to safety, with their hands held above their heads.
The scene is considered “active” and the story is still ongoing…..
