MAN CHARGED AFTER LIVESTREAMING WOMAN’S STABBING DEATH ON SOCIAL MEDIA

35-year old, Earl Lee Johnson was arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday and charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of Janice David. According to a report from ABC NEWS, David’s naked body was found bound to a vehicle’s steering wheel by jumper cables, late on Monday night.

According to the report, Ms. David’s torture and death was livestreamed on Facebook. At a on Tuesday morning, police said the two had apparently been on a days-long “drug-binge”, before David’s murder took place.

“Apparently they were involved in some drug activity together for a couple of days and the end result- as everyone has seen on Facebook Live- is a very gruesome, very evil act.”

Police Spokesperson, L’Jean Mckneely said at Tuesday morning’s press conference. Someone who watched the video notified Facebook of the content. Facebook notified authorities after receiving the notification about the livestream.

David’s death was livestreamed from the parking lot of an office building in Baton Rouge.
