Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf is reportedly pushing his plan to use the money that the state got from the American Rescue Plan, to give Pennsylvania residents a one-time $2000 stimulus payment, plus a few other things for P.A. residents.
According to a report from WKBN-27, Governor Wolf’s $1.7 billion PA OPPORTUNITY PLAN would assist P.A. families with child care, transportation, after-school programs, and job training.
The Governor’s proposal reportedly would use $500 million in “Rescue Plan” money to send $2000 direct payment to households with an income of $80,000/yr. or less.
“The cost of everything from gas to groceries is rising, and for Pennsylvanians living paycheck to paycheck that can mean painful decisions. Pennsylvanians deserves to be supported and and the opportunity to thrive. Yet my Republican colleagues are sitting on more than $2 billion of support that will need [to be] returned to the federal government if they don’t pass a plan.”
Governor Wolf said on Thursday.
Any American Rescue Money that is not used by December 31, 2024 will have to be returned to the federal government.
