ARMED SUSPECTS PEPPER SPRAY INSIDE ROOM FULL OF TODDLERS DURING DAYCARE ROBBERY

Philadelphia Police said they are investigating an armed robbery at a daycare in West Philadelphia this afternoon that sent several adults and children to the hospital. A CBS-3 PHILLY report said, the incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, at the Munchkins To Masterminds Daycare at 5400 West Girard Avenue.

Police said the suspects (at least one armed) allegedly stole an I-Pad from the daycare full of toddlers, before allegedly pepper-spraying the common area on their way out. There were 7 toddlers between the ages of 1-3 years old in the common room at the time. Two staff members were also in the common area.

Medics were rushed to the scene to evaluate the daycare staff and children. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported thus far. Police said the incident remains under investigation.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made at this time.
