WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER ASSAULT WITH BAT & CARJACKING IN PORT RICHMOND

Philadelphia Police said they are investigating a carjacking/assault in Port Richmond yesterday, that left a woman injured. A 6 ABC ACTION NEWS report said, the incident happened on Tulip Street near Castor Avenue at around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the woman was thrown out of her car and beaten by a bat by two men, before ultimately being jacked for her car. The woman was reportedly being treated for her injuries at Temple University Hospital. Doctors say she was admitted with “serious” injuries, but is expected to recover.

The victim’s car (with the baseball bat still in the backseat) was recovered. It had been abandoned on the 3600 block of Coral Street, later that same day, according to police. The victim’s identity remains unidentified at this time.

No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made so far.
