Philadelphia Police said a robbery suspect who attempted to rob a North Philly Dollar Store, was shot and killed by the manager of the store. A 6 ABC ACTION NEWS report said the incident happened at the Dollar General at 9th Street & Girard Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night.

A 36-year old man reportedly walked into the store and announced a robbery. He demanded that the cashier open the register. The worker managed to get the attention of the store’s manager, who came over in hopes of intervening. The suspect repeated his demands to the manager.
“I have a gun, give me all your money.” The suspect allegedly demanded. That was when the suspect brandished a weapon. The store owner (licensed to carry) shot the suspect in the head at least one time, according to police.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The weapon he brandished, turned out to be some metal covered in plastic, shaped like a gun. Police said they were still investigating the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
