12-year Philadelphia Police veteran Officer, Daniel Levitt was arrested on March 17th on a warrant for giving false testimony and making false statements, in connection with a gun arrests in Philadelphia.

According to a report from the Daily Voice, Levitt’s misdeeds didn’t come to light until a city-wide audit of gun violations was done by the Department’s Internal Affairs Division. During the audit, IA came across an April 28, 2021 arrest by Levitt.
After the investigation, Levitt was subsequently charged with perjury, unsworn false statements, and official oppression, according to a statement from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Levitt, who had been assigned to the 39th District, is currently serving a 30-day suspension, and is expected to be fired from the police force after serving the 30-day suspension, according to Police Commissioner, Danielle Outlaw.
