Philadelphia Police said a 62-year old man was shot and killed during a fight inside of a home in Southwest Philly last night. 6 ABC ACTION NEWS reported that the shooting happened on the 4800 block of Springfield Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Arriving officers reported finding a 62-year old man lying on the bedroom floor of a 2nd floor apartment at the address. The man had reportedly been shot in the neck. The victim was unresponsive when police found him. Police said the alleged shooter and victim were friends.
“We know that these two individuals knew each other. We know some sort of physical altercation that took place in the front bedroom that led to this shooting.”
Police Inspector, Scott Small said. The alleged shooter was reported to be 26-years old. Police said a gun and one single spent shell casing were found at the scene. The alleged shooter allegedly remained at the scene after the shooting, and was cooperating with police. No charges have been filed at this moment. This murder officially marks the 99th homicide in Philadelphia so far this year. Today’s date is March 10, 2022.
